In the first weekend of spring in Nicosia, with the support of the City Hall of Vienna and with the assistance of the Ambassador of Austria, Mr. Karl Müller, the 7th Charitable Vienna Ball will be held in honor of the 150th anniversary of Johann Strauss’ waltz “Blue Danube”.

There is an opinion that Viennese Ball are closed events, where only members of the upper class can go to a personal invitation. But this is not so! The Vienna balls are very democratic. Any such “professional ball” is open to all comers, regardless of status. You just need to buy a ticket, match the dress code and enjoy the holiday with its special noble atmosphere.

The Vienna Ball, which is held annually in Nicosia, starting in 2010, is not only a secular but, above all, a significant cultural and public event of an international level.

Guests of the Vienna Ball 2020 project will enjoy a magnificent concert program with the participation of the Cyprus Chamber Orchestra, artists from Russia and Austria, popular and favorite dances from the age of court balls and master classes under the guidance of the main ballroom dancer Tatyana Zenevich, as well as an exquisite candlelight gala dinner and presents from the City Hall of Vienna (Austria).

Visiting the ball can be a real adventure with reincarnation, unexpected meetings, new useful acquaintances and incredible discoveries. And, of course, this is a great idea for a romantic evening, which will leave in your memory many beautiful memories.

The main condition for participants, in addition to observing the rules of conduct at the ball, is also a certain dress code: ladies – in evening dresses, their knights – in dress coats or uniforms.

The Vienna Ball in Nicosia is a beauty and elegance, from the decorated interior to the grandeur of the dresses, hairstyles and accessories of the guests.

An invariable tradition of the ball is the participation in it of debutants. Girls and boys prepare for a social event long before it: for several months they learn the peculiarities of etiquette and the art of dance in the school Fly-in-dance (leader – Tatyana Zenevich).

This year, all collected funds will be transferred to the Fund for Autistic Children, and the Fund for Support of Young Talented Artists.

Dress code: ladies – a long evening dress or a ball gown; men – tailcoat, tuxedo or suit.

The Russian tourist flow to Cyprus grew by 50%

Last year, the Russian tourist flow to Cyprus showed a 50% increase. This was announced by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cyprus Stanislav Osadchy.

“The past year has become a record for the tourist industry in Cyprus, which in many ways became possible due to a significant increase in tourist flow from Russia. According to the official statistics of the Cyprus Statistical Service, the number of our compatriots who visited the island in 2016 has approached 800 thousand, which is more than ever and almost 50% higher than in 2015, “he said, TASS reports.

At the same time, Stanislav Osadchy stressed that first of all such growth is connected with the closure of Egypt, but interest in Cyprus among Russians is noted over the past few years.
